A Rising Tide
Heart of Iron
Growing at a precarious angle from the southern cliffs of La Seca is the Heart of Iron: A huge metal edifice of spiralling minerettes, and sharp blade like fins. In cross section it is somewhat ovoid, tilted slightly, and some eight hundred feet long.
Honeycombed with corridors, its floors are flat despite the off-angle of the whole structure. Parts of the building have fallen away over time, leaving some rooms open to the sky and revealing walls filled with pipes, tubes and wires. No part of the structure, regardless of size, can be moved nor harmed in any way known. There are doors, found slightly ajar, that no one has been able to explore behind.
Since its discovery in the far ancient past, people have flocked to the site believing it of divine origin. The city of Damelleon has grown up, over the intervening centuries, and is now the center for worship of Ajdallah the Mother of Machines.
